A Look Back at the History of Blackjack

The history of blackjack dates back some 300 years ago. This card game originated from France as early as year 1700, and was the known as "vingt-et-un" meaning twenty and one. This game is all about a Jack of Spades. The jack being a vital card and a spade being black, the game was then known to be blackjack.

Blackjack came into the United States by the year 1800. The History of blackjack flourished during the years 1850 to 1910, when gambling then was legal in the United States. However Nevada declared then that gambling is felony. By the year 1931 gambling in casinos were then became legal again in Nevada, and blackjack was one of the first games being offered for playing. So, that is the history of blackjack.

Let us now look at how this game of blackjack is being played.

The main objective in playing blackjack is to get close to the card value of twenty one as possible. Going over 21 is considered busted.The blackjack cards have their values such as the number cards have their worth as their face values, the cards king, queen, and jack have all values of ten, and an ace has a value of either 1 or 11. in this card game, a tie is declared if both players get equal values on their cards.

This is the step by step procedures of blackjack;

a) The players will place their bets

b) The dealer then deals two cards for every player, face upward , and lastly one card for himself.

c) The dealer then draws a second card for himself this time face down.

d) The Dealer then asks the players if they will get another card, that is to hit, or if he or she will decide to stand.

e) A player can have many hits as he want until his card has a value of 21.

f) However, if the player gets over 21, he is considered busted, and the dealer wins.

g) On the other hand if the player stops from hitting, the dealer then will reveal the value of his second card

h) If the dealer has a second card value which gives him a total of twenty one, eh has the blackjack and he is declared the winner. The option of the dealer is to draw as many cards to reach the value of at least 17 or more. If the dealer gets a total card value of over 21, he lost the game.

So this is the mechanics of blackjack. It may seemed simple as with the history of blackjack, but it can give much profit in winning this game.
